Funding Information

South Metro Microenterprise Coalition, Inc. (SMMC) offers micro loans to qualifying borrowers.

Loan Guidelines

Loan Purpose
All loans must be for a business purpose. Appropriate uses of SMMC, Inc. loans include but are not limited to:

  • Inventory, equipment and other tangible assets
  • Short term business training or certification
  • Promotions and advertising
  • Business consulting services
  • Obtaining a business license and certification
  • Seed Capital
  • Working Capital
  • Labor costs (ex. Contract workers)
  • Limited capital improvements to business space, depending on ownership of space.
  • Materials

Loan Limits

1st Loan Request  
Maximum amount
$ 500.00
Minimum amount $ 100.00

2nd Loan Request
All subsequent loans after the first will be approved on a step concept with gradually larger loans made as each loan is repaid up to a maximum loan amount of $2,000.00

Late Fee
A late payment of 4% of the loan payment or a minimum of $5.00 will be charged on any payment made later than ten (10) days after the due date on the loan.

Loan Fee
There will be a loan fee of $10.00 on each individual loan application payable at closing.

MICROENTERPRISE FUNDING SOURCES

There are many sources of funding for micro-enterprise both in your local community and through government and private sources. While SMMC, Inc. offers small start up loans for qualified applicants, we would like to provide some additional non-traditional sources to assist each of you with your specific needs.

Loan sizes up to $10,000.00 for qualifying micro businesses located in metropolitan Atlanta.
